Please refer to this page for the commonly asked questions related to Vexcel API. Detailed information about the viewer functionality, user guide and training videos are available here. Also, refer to the blog post on the viewer published by one of our team members- https://thegroundtruth.blog/2020/08/25/aerial-imagery-viewer-quickstart-tutorial/.

Q: How does a user get access to the Vexcel viewer application?

If you are new to the platform, please email support@vexcelgroup.com (VDP customers) or support@gic.org (GIC members) with your full name and email address.

Q: Why does the link to the email invitation for accessing the viewer not working or goes to a blank/spinning screen?

Our platform is not compatible with Internet explorer, so it is very important that users use Chrome, FireFox or Edge (Chromium version recommended) which are the supported internet browsers. If you have an Apple device, Safari is supported as well. Mobile access is the same, just use a supported browser on your device, the site is optimized for mobile use.

Q: How to reset my password?

The user can reset it at the sign-in screen. At any time, when you are signed in to the Viewer account the user can click on your name in the upper right corner of the window and from the drop down chose Change password. If you have any trouble in resetting your password, then please support@vexcelgroup.com (VDP customers) or support@gic.org (GIC members) and we will be happy to reset the password on your behalf.

Q: Why is the CSV data overlay upload not working?

The CSV will need to have lat/long values of the addresses in order for the platform to ingest the data. The street addresses can be geocoded using an online geocoding tool to retrieve the lat/longs and then uploaded to Vexcel platform. Support for addresses upload is planned for the future. Here is a sample format:

latitude | longitude | fieldname

30.31458 | -93.284893 | abcdef
