(Legacy UI) Layers: Imagery Tab

This UI no longer exists in the Viewer. It has been replaced by the Timeline and Timeline Filter.

Layer Control

Datasets shown on the timeline are contained within layers in the layer control. Grayed out layers are not available in that location. An eye icon appears next to the data that is currently visible on the map/selected in the timeline).

For gray sky data, the additional options menu next to each collection allows you to toggle on or off the disaster auto contrast feature (see the documentation for the disaster auto contrast feature).

Blue Sky Layers

Layers under the Blue Sky heading show checkboxes next to each layer. The checkboxes indicate that data contained in that layer is enabled to show on the timeline and on the map. You can hide blue sky datasets from the timeline and from the map by unchecking the box. This is not necessary in most cases. Normally, you will use the timeline slider to toggle between the different datasets available at your location.

Gray Sky Layers

Layers under the Gray Sky heading show checkboxes next to each layer. The checkboxes indicate that data contained in that layer is enabled to show on the timeline and on the map. You can hide entire gray sky datasets from the timeline and from the map by unchecking the box.

Where available, Gray Sky layers show dropdown arrows that allow you to expand the dataset and hide individual collections within that dataset from the timeline and map. Using the checkbox is not necessary in most cases. Normally, you will use the timeline slider to toggle between the different datasets available at your location.
